Bernice Johnston's Obituary
Bernice Johnston, 84, of Avon Lake, died on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Saint John Westshore Hospital, Westlake; following a short illness.
She was born in Vincennes, Indiana and had lived in Avon Lake the past two years. She had previously lived in Norwalk for fifty-five years; Westlake; for two years and in North Ridgeville for two years.
Mrs. Johnston was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in each of the communities that she lived.
She, also, was a member of the Eastern Star.
Bernice was a great oil painter,accomplished woodcarver andhad worked on the family genealogy for years.
She is survived by her sister, Louise F. Scott, of Deland, FL; nieces, Barbara Symbol, of North Ridgeville and Lynn Burr, of Seminole, FL, Jill Wick, of Mebane, NC, and Kimberly Smith, of Asheboro,NC; nephews, Robert Clark, Palm Beach, FL, and James Clark, Tampa, FL.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Johnston (2003); parents, Wallace A. and Ruby (nee Wesner) Clark and one brother, Clifford G. Clark.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 2, 2008 in the Relief Society Room in the northwest corner of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 25000 Westwood Road, Westlake. Former Bishop of the North Olmsted Ward, Earl Mortensen will officiate. Private burial will take place in Fields Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
