Benjamin Boner's Obituary
Benjamin Dale Boner, age 69, of Elyria, died Saturday at Welcome Nursing Home, Oberlin following a long illness.
He was born in Pond Gap, West Virginia and lived in Elyria from 1963 until moving to Reno, Nevada in 1993, then moved to LaGrange in 2000.
Mr. Boner was a Sargent in the US Army, serving from 1955-1958..
He worked as a millwright at the General Motors Fisher Guide Plant in Elyria until its closing then transferred to the Sandusky plant. He retired in 1993 after 30 years of service.
He was a member of United Auto Workers Union Local 913, Sandusky and enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and bowling.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Judy A. (Nee Shultz); daughters, Juanita Radolec of Elyria, Denise Teehan of Lagrange, Brenda Kocsis of Bellevue; son, Brian of Milton, Florida; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Frank of Orlando, Boyd of Bellville, Michigan and Jerry of Manitu, Michigan; sisters, Barbara Coleman of Plymouth, Michigan, Carol Coleman of Jodie, West Virginia, Linda Parker of Orlando, Florida, Beverly Gill of New Boston, Michigan and Pat Hagerman of Avon.
He was preceded in death by parents, Benjamin and Ethel Boner and his brother Randall.
The family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday in the funeral home. Preacher Jason Hardin, Thayer Street Church of Christ, Akron will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
