Barbara Ann Smirz's Obituary
Barbara Ann Smirz (nee Kotar), age 78 of North Ridgeville, passed away Tuesday December 24, 2024, at her home following a long illness.
Born in Garfield Hts., she resided in North Ridgeville since 1967, after moving from Cleveland.
She was a member of St. Peter Church, North Ridgeville. She enjoyed baking, reading, crocheting, dancing and attending car shows with her family.
Barb worked as a baker for IGA in N. Ridgeville. She later worked as a records clerk for Research Associates.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years Dale, children Cheryl (Joe) Horency of LaGrange, Scott (Laura) Smirz of Eaton Township, Carole (Blain) Amburgey of Valley City, grandchildren, Rachel Krezman, Emma Smirz, Joe Horency, Stephanie Lang, Nicholas Smirz, Theresa Smirz, Noah Smirz, Victoria Garcia, Madison Amburgey, great-grandchildren, Lawrence Smirz, and Ezra Garcia, and her brother, Jerome (Ann) Kotar of Parma.
She was preceded in death by father, Anthony F. Kotar, mother, Matilda (nee Hanculak) Kotar, brother, Anthony Kotar Jr. and son Frank Smirz in 2022. Private services were held.
