Barbara A. Donaldson's Obituary
Barbara A. Donaldson (nee Powell), age 88, of North Ridgeville passed away peacefully surrounded by love Friday February 14, 2020 at Westlake Village Assisted Living.
She was born in Cleveland, was a resident of North Ridgeville for over 20 years after moving from Elyria.
She graduated from Lakewood High School where she met her future husband Douglas.
Mrs. Donaldson worked as a secretary at Prospect Elementary School in Elyria in the 80 and 90’s.
A former member of First Methodist Church, Elyria, she enjoyed watercolor painting, especially nature and landscapes, crocheting, home decorating especially for the holidays. She was an avid sports fan, enjoying watching Cleveland Sports with her husband. Her favorite hobby was reading, always having a book at her side.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Douglas, two daughters, Debra Donaldson MD of Burlingame, CA and Susan (Brad) Beckett RN of North Ridgeville, grandchildren, Dr. Rachel Beckett and Dr. David (Cara) Beckett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lillian (nee LaViers) Powell and her sister, Patricia Siebel
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-7PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville where services will be held 10 AM Wednesday. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Cleveland.
