Dr. Antonio S. Mata's Obituary
Dr. Antonio S. Mata, age 94, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Diplomate Nursing Home in North Royalton.
Born in the Philippines, he was a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 10 years moving from Cleveland.
He worked as a medical doctor at the Chester Clinic in Cleveland, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of St. Peter Church in North Ridgeville and the BLD Community and Couples for Christ in Cleveland.
Antonio enjoyed playing Chess, gardening, and watching the Cleveland Browns.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jenny (nee Garcia), children, Robert Mata of Brunswick, Georgina (Robert) White of North Ridgeville, Anthony (Regina) of Carmichaels, Pennsylvania, grandchildren, William, Jennifer, Daniel, Brandon, Carol Ann, Emily, Matthew, Stephen, Ethan and Olivia, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael, parents, Licerio and Asuncion Mata, brother, Generoso Mata and sister, Angelina Tan.
Friends may call Friday from 5-7PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where a prayer service will be held on Saturday at 9:30AM followed by a 10AM Mass at St. Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge Road and will be streamed live on www. stpeternr.org. Rev. Joe Robinson will officiate. Due to COVID-19 masks and social distancing will be required. Burial will be private at St. Peter Cemetery.
