Anthony Baldassar's Obituary
Anthony D. Baldassar, age 86, of North Ridgeville, died Monday evening at North Ridge Health Center, North Ridgeville; following a lenghty illness.
He was born in Vittorio Venito, Italy and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1975. He previously had lived in Cleveland.
Mr. Baldassar served in the US Army during WWII.
He was co-owner; with his brother-in-law, Stephen Solema, of Tony's Market on Clark Ave. in Cleveland for over forty years until his retirement in 1985.
He was a member of Saint Julie Billiart Catholic Church, North Ridgeville.
Survivors include his daughters, Marian Schane, of Rocky River and Angela (Robert) Kovach, of Strongsville; son, Anthony S. (Mary Ann) Baldassar, of North Ridgeville; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchild; sisters, Mary Solema, of Parma and Ida Means, of Pittsburgh, PA.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Grace (nee Liberto) Baldassar in 2002; his parents, Angelo and Augusta (nee Moro) Baldassar and his sister, Anna Merletti.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville; where prayers will be said on Thursday at 9:30 AM.. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at Saint Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 5500 Lear Nagle Road, North Ridgeville. Reverend Doctor Richard Gonser, pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Saint Peter Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
