Andrew Sabol's Obituary
Andrew Sabol, age 96, of Avon, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017 at University Hospital in Cleveland, following a brief illness. He was born in Blacktop, and had been a longtime resident of Avon moving from North Ridgeville. Andrew served during World War II in the US Army. Prior to retiring from Ohio Edison, he worked as a Stationary Engineer Boiler Operator for Glidden Paint and Varnish. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Westlake and enjoyed woodworking and volunteering as a naturalist for the Lorain County Metro Parks. Survivors include his daughter, Leigh Gable of Dalton, Georgia; sons, David of Elyria and Don (Nancy) of Marysville; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois (nee Walton); 7 siblings; parents, George and Verna (nee Corivy) Sabol. A Memorial Service will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 27993 Detroit Rd. Westlake, OH 44145 on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 2 PM. Burial will take place on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 12:30 PM at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
