Amos Mehne's Obituary
Amos C. Mehne, 90 of North Ridgeville, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Northridge Health Center, North Ridgeville.
He was formerly of Otwell, IN, and moved to North Ridgeville in 1999. He retired from Jasper Wood Products, Jasper, IN in 1984 after 36 years of service. Amos served in the US Army during WWII, and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 147, Jasper, IN. He attended Otwell, IN and North Ridgeville Methodist Churches, and was an avid gardener.
Amos is survivied by two daughters, Juanita Kennett (David), of North Ridgeville and Sharon Knight (Allan) of Peachtree City, GA; special niece whom he and his wife, Dorothy had raised since six weeks of age, Judy Popp Groff of Vincennes, IN; four grandchildren, Bradley Kennett (Michelle), Doug, Graham and Bobby Knight; Rachel Woolsey (nee Goff) and her two children; three great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Virginia Fasel (nee Dickson) of Southport, IN.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in 2000; parents, Samuel and Margaretha "Mattie" (nee Schnarr) Mehne; a brother and a sister.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-6PM at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel Funeral Home, 3221 Newton St., Jasper, IN 47546-1372. Further visitation from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM Monday at Otwell United Methodist Church, 10041 E. Washington Street, Otwell, IN 47564. Rev. Jeff Pinney, pastor will officiate. Burial to follow in New Liberty Cemetery , Velpen, IN.
