Allen Dale Thompson's Obituary
Allen D. Thompson, age 69, of Elyria, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born on December 30, 1948 in Long Branch, WV and has been a resident of Elyria for the past 26 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Allen loved to tinker around the house and was known to collect things that “might” be needed while he was out bargain hunting. He also liked camping, spending time on his boat, and fishing in the summer, and the fall months would find him out hunting. His greatest joy in life was found in spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Beverly (nee Strickland); daughters Chanda (John) Western of Elyria, Carey (Bruce) DeMeza of Westlake, Crystal (Scott) Atkinson of Elyria and Corrinna (Jason) Marrale of Elyria; grandchildren Zachary, Spencer, Olivia, Jacob, Morganne, Jeremy, Lily, Jamie, Amber, Dakotah and Sydney; great grandchildren Calvin and Arya; brother Larry Thompson; sisters Patty (Chuck) McElroy and Carolyn Giese; many nieces and nephews.
Allen was preceded in death by his granddaughter Emmilie; parents Dennie and Bethyl (nee Boyer) Thompson; brother Ken Thompson; sister Linda Sorenson.
Memorial Service and Military Honors will be on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, where family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until time of service. Bob Smalley will officiate. Interment will be private.
