Allan J. Smith, age 69, of Elyria, passed away Monday, June 26, 2023, at EMH Elyria Medical Center. He
was born in Cleveland and had been a lifelong Cleveland area resident. He worked as a laborer for
Cargill Salt before retiring in 2002. Allan enjoyed people watching and telling stories. His wife was his
life. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Daryl; children Vanessa (Mathew) Utt of Elyria; Melissa (Joe)
Perry of Willowick; Allan (Nikki) Smith of Columbia Station; Brian (Diane) Smith of Parma, and Jason;
grandchildren Kaila, AJ, (Jordan), Natalie, Brianna, Kiera, Brian Jr., Gabby; three great grandchildren;
grand dogs Tuck-Tuck and Otis; sisters Cathy (Craig) Conn, Denise Smith; family friends Katie Ables, Carl Gorsuch Jr., and their 3 children. He was preceded in death by his parents James Allan and Myrtle
Elizabeth Smith; Cookie Grandma; friends Dimitro, Hardy. Family will celebrate his life privately.
