Allan E. Jones' Obituary
Allan Edwin Jones, age 82, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the University Hospital Elyria Medical Center. He was born on February 11, 1942, in Jersey City, New Jersey, and attended St. Bridget Elementary School and went on to graduate from St. Aloysius High School in Jersey City. Allan was a proud Marine Corps veteran. He worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield as a business analyst for 40 years. He was married to his Irish Sweetheart, Madeline (nee Mooney) for 43 years, before her passing in 2008. He was very active in the St. Rose of Lima (North Syracuse) and Christian Brothers Academy (Dewitt) Community. He was always involved with his kid’s activities, whether it was coaching or taking stats. He truly enjoyed traveling to Ireland, sitting in the sun and good food. He loved to watch European soccer and murder mysteries. Allan would often take his kids skiing and go on nature walks with them when they were little. He loved his grandbabies and was affectionately known as Pop Pop (aka Pops). Allan was so funny and witty, and lived a life based in family and faith. He loved animals and donated to many charities, especially the ones that protected animal rights. One could find him playing solitaire and listening to some doo wop or Irish music daily. Allan was very loved and lived a beautiful life. He is survived by his daughter Dara (Eric) Roach; son Shawn (Maggie) Jones; Pop Pop to Lily, Emma, Molly, Maren, Meredith, Gaven and Kellen.
Allan was preceded in death by his wife Madeline; parents Edwin and Veronica Jones; brothers Howard and Garrett Jones; daughter-in-law Jeannine.
