Alfred Skinner's Obituary
Alfred L. Skinner, Sr., age 72, of Elyria, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria; following a short illness.
He was born February 12, 1933 in Clarksburg, WV. He had lived in Elyria the past 50 years; having moved from Uniontown, PA.
Mr. Skinner was a member of Member of United Polish Club, Elyria, the Elyria Eagles Club, and a social member of VFW Post 1079 and AMVETS Post 32; both of Elyria.
He worked as an inspector on the foam line at the General Motors Fisher Guide Plant, Elyria for 27 years and had retired in 1988.
He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed fishing and playing pool.
Surviving are his wife of 22 years,, Margaret S.(nee Koposko) Skinner ; daughter, Juanita E. Skinner, of Pittsburgh, PA; sons, John E. Victor, of Elyria, Wendell E. Skinner, of Uniontown, PA, Alfred L. Skinner, Jr., of Lagrange; step-daughters, Barbara Daniocek, of Elyria, Debbie Daniocek, Kathy Daniocek, Karen Daniocek, all of Uniontown, PA and Lori Daniocek, of San Diego, CA; step-sons, Edward Daniocek, of Pittsburgh, PA, Jeffrey Daniocek, of Sheffield Village and Richard Daniocek, of Lakewood; twenty-nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren;
He was preceded in death by his first wife Isa Ruth Skinner, in 1976; parents, Charles and Agnes (nee Armstead) Skinner; step-son, Robert Daniocek; one brother, Charles Skinner, and two sisters, Mary Burkey and Doris Wilburn..
The family will receive friends from 7- 9 PM on Friday at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, OH; where a memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM. Reverend Duncan Meadows, pastor of the New Life Baptist Church of Elyria, will officiate.
Private internment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
As a memorial to Mr. Skinner, the family suggest blood donations be made to Lifeshare
Community Blood Services on East Bridge Street, Elyria.
