Alfred Hergert's Obituary
Alfred Henry Hergert III "Chip" 54, died suddenly on March 17, 2008.
He was born in Lakewood, had resided in Rocky River and had lived in North Ridgeville for the past twenty-three years. Traveling was of great interest to him, and in the early 1970's he toured Europe and also lived in Ireland for two years.
Chip was employed as a craftsman. He had a passion for woodworking, especially making furniture. He loved his sports. Baseball was his favorite, and he had played for several teams over the years. Music greatly influenced his life. He also enjoyed vegetable gardening, especially zucchini and corn, and he loved his barbeque as well. His constant joking will be missed by his family.
Surviving are his wife, Gloria (nee Watson ); daughter, Allison; son, Justin; granddaughter, Kelsea; brother and sisters, Penny, Tina, Karen, John and Kim, and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ocie and Alfred Henry Hergert II.
Family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00AM till 5:00PM at the Rocky River American Legion Post 451, 19911 Lake Rd. with a memorial service being held at11:30AM. Memorial donations have been suggested to the American Heart Association, 1689 E.115th St Cleveland, 44106 or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309.
