Albert Praszek's Obituary
Albert B. Praszek, age 88, of North Ridgeville passed away Thursday, March 19, 2009 at EMH Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born June 26, 1920 in Grafton and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1948. He was the owner/operator of Ridge Lumber in North Ridgeville from 1950 until he retired in 1986. His son, Craig continues to manage the facility.
Mr. Praszek served in the 8th Army Air Corp during WWII and was stationed in England and Iceland.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, North Ridgeville and life member of VFW Post 9871, North Ridgeville.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his daughter, Deborah (Michael ) Mohler of Rapid River, MI, son, Craig (Vicki) Praszek of LaGrange, 2 granddaughters, Karen Mohler-Hartman and Heather Albekier, 2 great granddaughters, Elizabeth and Alyssa, and sisters, Mary Bratek of Miami, FL and Carole Mitchell of Grafton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette (nee Friend) in 2005, his parents, Victoria and John Praszek, a sister, Helen George and brothers, Walter and Stanley Praszek.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-5 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville where a prayer service will begin at 9:30 AM on Monday followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church, 35777 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Rev. Doug Koesel, Associate Pastor, will be the celebrant.
Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon where VFW Post 9871 will conduct full military honors.
