Louis Kordish, Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Louis "Lou" Kordish, Jr., age 56, a North Ridgeville resident for over 30 years; died peacefully in his home on August 30th; after a long illness. His family and devoted home health care aide, Rana Hamilton, were at his side. He was born in Cleveland and moved to North Ridgeville in 1972. Lou was proud of his community and enjoyed meeting and helping people. He served as a city councilman for several terms, was a member of the North Ridgeville Visitors Bureau and an early member of the Corn Festival Committee, among other local organizations. Lou never stopped learning and embracing new experiences. His professional career as an engineer with Ohio Bell (Ameritech) spanned almost 30 years. (He retired in 1994). During that time he participated in many training seminars related to his field. He earned two associate degrees from Lorain County Community College, one in business and the other in art. He was an avid amateur photographer and won an award from the Lorain County Visitors Bureau for one of his black and white photos. Out of his love for model trains was born L & B Video and Train Depot, a small hobby shop and video store. He was trained in Conflict Resolution and enjoyed helping others resolve their differences. Above all, Lou loved his family and lived his life to the fullest with great joy. Survivors include his wife, Barbara (nee Kles) Kordish; son, Louis Charles Kordish, of Lakewood; daughters, Cristin A. Goodwin, of North Ridgeville and Dawn M. Kordish, of Arizona; a sister, Donna Kordish, of Cleveland. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Elizabeth (nee Ortolf) Kordish,Sr. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville; where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM. Reverend Bill Shomo will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
