Dear Jean (and Hura family):

I am very saddened by your father's death. You and your siblings have been commited to the care of both of your parents during the past year. The loss of a parent significantly impacts our lives. Our parents are important in our lives, even when we find it difficult to understand them. When we care for our elders, we learn the importance of family, respect, and forgiveness. Most importantly, we learn to love in times of great stress. At a time when the world is so unsettling, the love and compassion you have shown your father gives us all hope for a better world. As requested in your father's obituary, I will send a contribution in your family's name to the church. God be with you, and peace be in your hearts.

Dear Betty, Jean, Julie, Jim and Joe -

It seems like yesterday we were tooling down Kinzel road and your Dad tried to run Jim over. Actually, he laughed as he blew the horn and watched Jim jump. We were on our way home from Kent State - and it was my first visit to Avon. I remember Joe coming home from BGSU and bringing with him the world famous "Donut Cake" home Easter. I also remember your Dad laughing as I sat in St. Mary's that Sunday as the Priest said, "And Jesus was born a Jew. And speaking of Jews, Jean Sheak has her College Roommate Monica visiting this weekend. Please be sure to stop by and say Hello." Your Dad thought this was so funny. What I remember most about your Dad Wilbur was whenever I was over the house, he would always be tinkering in the basement. The lights would all go out and your Mom would yell, "WILBUR!" and then they would go back on and I could hear him laughing downstairs. I know that was many, many years ago, but when I think of your Dad back then, I always picture him with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye while planning his next (im)practical joke.

Since I lost my Father this past April, you know I truly understand what all of you are going through. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I have been blessed to know your family for over 25 years. Please know that I love you all very much and you have my heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your beloved Father.
