I moved into his building in March, he was the only neighbor to reach out, welcome me, and took an interest in my life. We talked baseball, his time growing up in NY, watching Yankee legends. We where planing in going golfing one day when I wasn’t working. Every morning when I’d leave for work, he’d be out front cigarette in hand. When I’d get home, samething. He’d joke with my 7 year old daughter about taking her ice cream! He’s going to be missed for sure! On June 30th we had our normal nightly talk about the state of MLB, he ended it with “if it’s not one thing it’s another!” That will never ring more true. I am sorry I didn’t see this earlier as I would of loved to said a proper good bye. Instead I’ll end it like I always did with him. “I’ll see ya tomorrow morning! And if I don’t, I’ll see ya when I get back!”
