I have many fond memories of Richard while growing up. From playing basketball in the barn in the Winter to crawling around under the quilting rack at Gandma's house while Aunt Joe, Mom and the other aunt's yelled at us to get out from there.
While staying with the family one summer Richard taught me to drive standard shift on an old car Uncle Walt had on the farm. Richard, Alan and i would take the car to chase in the cows in the evening. I also remember how he suffered with polio.
He purchase a new Firebird and I remember how much he loved that car. As with all families we each went our separate ways and I did not see Richard very often. On a few weekends he would drive the Firebird into Cleveland and we would grab a beer or two and hangout.
He often worked the vegetable stand on route 20 and Cheryle and i would ocassionly would stop to buy produce and chat when we lived in Ridgeville.
Our sincere condolences to the family, you are in our thoughts and prayers at the sad time. May he finally be at peace.
