What is there to write about Huck (Leon Huckleberry)? It is so hard because there is so much to say. He was a man who loved his family deeply and had the heart of a hero. He was always a man of integrity. He had the power of mind to look at all parts of a problem and see everyone’s point of view. He tried to be fair. He loved his wife (GG) unconditionally. He always did his best and wanted everyone he loved to become their best self. He had compassion, empathy, but mostly he had a sense of GRACE. And He was like a safe port provided to all the people who were like ships in a storm. He provided the help you needed even when you didn't ask.
I think when you see all those qualities the hardest thing to know is he and his list of attributes won’t be here with us in this physical world. Huck seemed like the sun and moon. He would always be here. But he gave us an example of who we can be and what qualities and virtues we can emulate; those things that made him a great man that the whole world didn’t know, but made our world feel a little safer and always ready to be loved. I love you, Huck. I have only borderline worshipped 3 men on this earth. My Grandfather, my father and you.
Thanks for falling into my life and choosing to remain a part of it. So many people will miss you. I will miss you everyday until we meet again on the other side. When I look into the night sky, I will think of the time you told me about camping in South Dakota and how you marveled at that night sky and all the stars and how clear it all was. I know you are a star somewhere and I’ll look for you in that clarity of sky. And say Hi to GG when you cross over. Tell her we miss her. She’s been waiting for you to join her.
Cheers my dear friend.

My dad was the most selfless person I have ever known. He taught me how to be a giver whether I realized it or not. He loved without expectations and he accepted all for who they were. My fondest memories of him have a lot to do with how he took care of my mom and never stopped treating her with the utmost respect even when that was hard to do. Other memories include the numerous camping trips we went on as children, my dad taking us to his work and stopping for donuts on the way, the way he could look you in the face with such love no matter what you did that was wrong and reassured you that he understood and would not judge.
There is not a person in my life that has had more impact on me than my father. It is truly hard to say goodbye but his presence will never disappear. He lived a wonderful, long life with many trials and tribulations but he always made the best of everything. You know in our souls what a special relationship we had dad and you know how much I love you and will miss you! Even though the end was hard I am so profoundly lucky to have spent your last moments with you. Can't wait to see you again my doting, charming, and loving father.
