Chris, Greg and Julie: I just wanted to express my deepest sympathy. I know how much he will be missed. Your dad was a wonderful man. I loved his sense of humor. One of my favorite memories of your dad was when he and your mom would come to visit Aunt Lynette and me. We would sit down to watch TV or a movie and your dad would be asleep and snoring within 5 minutes. We would always make a guess on how long it would take him to be sleeping. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
My husband Ron Mcourt worked with Joe and Charlie, I had just met my future husband and I would come to their work sight and bring jugs of water with lemons, limes, and organges in the cooler, and Joe thought that was so tasteful and neat. He use to manage baseball with my uncle Mel Nicewander and I remember the name Bucky Deeks, must have been their star player. My husband just called Joe this morning to see if they could meet for breakfast as he is up there from FL, imagaine his grief to here that Joe was not there. They have had so many laughs together about building homes, maybe not at the time but when meeting in the past for breakfast, him, Charlie and Ron.
Our Favorite Uncle Joe....Joe was as close to family for us as you could get. Joe worked for my dad, Charlie, for a very long time. I remember eating out of Joe's lunchbox when my mom would take my sister and I to see our dad at work during the summer...he always had candy in there! Over the years he was always willing to help my dad with all kinds of jobs, including working everyday during the summer of 1998 to help my family build our first home. No matter what he was doing when I would arrive with our children, Becky, Seth, and Macee, he would stop and put each one on his lap and snuggle with them. He loved his favorite hat with all his grandchildren's pictures on it..he would show it off each time he came to visit me at Walmart. He also loved to come and watch Macee play softball each summer....my dad has lost his best friend...our hearts will forever be changed without you here. Thank you, Joe, for being such a huge part of our lives~love you
