I am so very sorry to his this. I was a co-worker with him at the National Park Service in Human Resources, Peninsula, Ohio. He was a great guy to work with and he had a wonderful sense of humor. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.
My condolences goes out to all the family and I know many friends of Jeff. I went to school with with Jeff. We were in Fire service together. He was always an outstanding guy and I know he will be truly missed.

Jeff was my brother in law. I am thankful we moved to Ohio and I was able to know him, even if that time was cut short. Jeff had an amazing sense of humor and always tried to make those around him laugh. I will miss our conversations but I’m lucky that we had them. Your family loves you so much and your memory will live on through the stories we will continue to tell of the great times we shared. You will be very missed Jeff.

I was a world away in Afghanistan when I got to meet Jeff for the first time. (I think, I may have met him briefly at a 4th of July party years earlier). Anyway, he was my college friend (Kate)'s husband, and while he was nearly a stranger, meeting someone who knew someone I knew was so comforting. We had dinner in a crappy dining facility on base in a warzone but we shared stories of the silly hijinks of the Hansen family and it made all our loved ones feel closer. I'm thankful I got to meet him. I wish so much love to anyone who knew Jeff especially his wife and children. May his memory be a comfort. - Skemp
