For Aunt Irene:
We began to say goodbye to Aunt Irene years ago
When her mind became confused
With fading memories
Today she passed beyond the life we all know
And started her journey to Heaven
A place she longed to see
One cannot prepare for such sorrow
Though we?ve known
This day would arrive
We try to think of her bright to morrows
Endless sunshine, no sickness
As she begins her brand new life
What a tremendous reunion there will be
When she reunites with those
Who have gone before
As we weep for the one we loved so deeply
She?s resting in the arms of Jesus
Never to suffer anymore
Help us, Lord, to say goodbye
And to remember her
With the love she had for family and friends
Help us, Lord, to live as she did
So that we may have our own reunion
When we at last see her again.

A precious, genteel lady has at last gone home to be with the Lord. I'm humbled and honored to have had this amazing woman in my life and blessed to have called her 'Aunt'. She left an indelible print upon my heart by the way she lived her life. Words cannot express the sadness and sorrow felt at this time, but comfort is gained in knowing what a joyful reunion will take place when she is reunited with Uncle Morrow, her brothers, her sister, her son and her parents. I know Aunt Irene loved the Lord with every breath in her being and for her to be at the right side of the throne is what she always wanted.
Thank you, Jesus, for allowing this lady to grace my life.
