He was a great Uncle. He and Aunt Darlene took me to my very first Drive-in movie at the Autorama to see, "Planet of the Apes." We went on trips with them to W.Va., to visit his family. He was an awesome pilot! He will be sadly missed.
One of the greatest memory’s I have of my father is when I was a young child he had been trying to teach me to swim and I just wasn’t getting it...so he loaded me in his boat and off we went out into Lake Erie.After we got far enough offshore(I was convinced the water had to be at least 3 miles deep) he calmly removed my life jacket... held me over the side and said”sink or swim my son” and tossed my little tail in the water...after a few mouthfuls of water I began swimming like an olympic champ! That was my father...and the life lessons continued my whole life..I’m proud to say that because of him I realized there was nothing I could not do.
