As my brother posted, "Oh No Mr. Bill" was passed down to all the neighborhood kids; sometimes we would say it jokingly and sometimes just because we were secretly "afraid" of him.
I never quite understood why I was "afraid" of him, but now, I think it was because I never wanted to disappoint my second Dad.
I have many different memories of Mr. Hill but the ones that supersede them all, involve his smiles, an occasional wink or nod of his head and always arms wide open for a hug.
I have always respected him because no matter how hard or tough life got, he always fought harder. He proved this, the past several years.
You will be truly missed but never forgotten by The "Straka" Family or any of the neighborhood clan.
I know you are with God now, May you rest in Peace.

Hi Michelle and Mark,
I was informed on Sunday that your Dad went to be with Jesus. I am sorry to hear the news, and I am praying for both of you.
Growing up, we came up with the nickname for your Dad, "Mr. Bill." While your Dad doesn't have much in common with Mr. Bill from Saturday Night Live, except maybe neither one had much hair. Your Dad loved it, and we had fun with it.
I loved your Dad too, he was a good man. He was a Great American, and a Great Hero. Mr. Bill I know you can see what I have written here, thank you for being a friend, and thank you for your service to our Country. From one Veteran to another I salute you.
Michelle and Mark may the Good Lord Bless you and take care of you.

Michelle and Mark I am so sorry I couldn't be there today to pay my respects and to give you both a hug but please know you are on my mind ! Sending big hugs to you both!
I am saddened to hear of the passing of Mr Hill. I always enjoyed his company and humor. May the love of those around you help comfort you through the days ahead.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time of loss. John will miss his weekly talks with Bill but he will always remember the jokes and laughs they have enjoyed over the years. May God bless you all and keep you all safe and may His arms of love wrap around each of you and give you peace during the up coming days. We will all miss him....love John and Donna Gronau
