To JB, Judy, Jill, Jenny, Jamie, John, Aaron, Hillary and great-grand kids, your mom, your grammy was the best.
I have so many wonderful memories of Aunt Babs. During one visit to Florida, we had a classic "I Love Lucy" moment when Babs attempted to board our boat. As the boat was leaving the dock, we discovered one of Babs' legs was still on the dock, the other was planted on the boat. She was literally doing the Russian splits over the water as the boat was drifting. We looked on with horror and panic at a very calm Babs. My husband Tim was finally able to help swing her onto the boat, and I have to point out that Babs continued to maintain the Russian splits while in the air. It looked like they were doing the ballet. Best of all, Aunt Babs smiled, and just acted like it was normal, what was the big deal?
Most importantly, Aunt Babs has been one of the sweetest and most thoughtful women in my life. I have many memories of talking to her one on one, late into the night. I could walk to her house at anytime, and she would welcome me with love.
I will miss you Aunt Babs!
Mrs. Hootman was like another mother to me for so much of my childhood. So many wonderful memories of being around the corner at their home. Seeing in her in the kitchen... or out in the garden. Putting up with me and Jenny rollerskating in her sewing space.
Love to all the family during this time.
