  • TAPS: For Those Who Lost A Military Loved One (Meets Monthly)
    Monday, September 24, 2018 : 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM
    Structured Support Groups
    Topics related to grief are explored each week and opportunities are provided for participants to explore their healing process. Most of Cornerstone's support groups are offered at no cost.     TAPS is the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors and is a resource for anyone who has suffered the loss of a military loved one regardless of the relationship to the deceased or the circumstances of the death. This group is run by a TAPS trained facilitator along with a co-facilitator that is experienced in grief.
    We invite you to join us as we provide support, care and hope with resources, personal contact, fellow survivors in a spirit of friendship and understanding. You do not have to attend every month, just attend when you are available or feel that you need the support. Light refreshments will be provided and there is no cost to you.

  • Adult Grief Support-All Loss Types (Friday Afternoon Group)
    Monday, September 24, 2018 : 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
    Structured Support Groups
    Topics related to grief are explored each week and opportunities are provided for participants to explore their healing process. Most of Cornerstone's support groups are offered at no cost.     This group is for adults who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Depending on the size of the group, groups may break down further into Loss of a Spouse, Loss of a Child, Loss of a Parent, and All Grief Losses.
    Open to all, regardless of ethnic, cultural and faith backgrounds. Led by professionally trained and experienced facilitators. A choice of either Wednesday or Friday sessions are offered for your schedule. Session is ten weeks in length and each meeting is 2 hours. Provided at no charge to you, and includes a light dinner (Wednesday) or a light snack (Friday).

    COMPLICATED LOSS SUPPORT GROUP:
    Sometimes there are individuals in our lives that are hard to love
    because you may have had a difficult relationship with them.
    When death strikes, you are left with conflicting emotions about
    the individual, yourself, and your relationship with them. This
    group offers a safe place to explore these feelings and unresolved
    issues with others who understand. Dinner is provided.

    Over the past year, Cornerstone of Hope has recognized a great need for a support group for families that have lost a loved one to accidental overdose. This unique loss can leave families with many unanswered questions along with a myriad of difficult emotions. This group hopes to bring people together who have experienced similar losses, offer some education about the addiction process, offer support for the numerous emotional reactions to this particular loss, and provide some helpful insight into moving forward with hope.
    We provide the opportunity for you to join an inclusive group of individuals, who share common experiences.
    Open to all, regardless of ethnic, cultural and faith backgrounds. Led by professionally trained and experienced facilitators. Session is ten weeks in length and each meeting is 2 hours. Provided at no charge to you, and includes a light dinner.

This statistic doesn't even include children who may lose a brother, sister, grandparent, aunt, uncle or even a close friend at their school.   • International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day

    International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day is Saturday, November 17, 2018. Join with fellow loss survivors in your community. On Survivor Day, suicide loss survivors around the world gather at local events to share stories, gain insight, and find comfort in the knowledge that they are not alone.
    On Saturday, November 17, 2018 we are hosting a Survivor Day event near you. The day's program will include the screening of an AFSP produced documentary that will explore the grief and healing journey after a suicide from the perspective of a group of long-term loss survivors. Additional details about the event will be posted on afsp.org/SurvivorsDay in the coming months.
