Dear Sue,
We just returned from a trip and found the newspaper obituary for Chris. Please accept our sincere expression of sympathy and prayers for your loss. We're very sorry we couldn't attend the visitation to tell you in person.
Suzy,
At a time like this it is so hard to find the right words to say.
Chris was a unique person. His wit and wisdom will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Though I can't be with you at this time, I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
Dear Sue
My condolence and my ?prayers? are with you.
It was a shock to learn of your loss.
Should you need anything! Call and I will be there to help!
In Prayer

My sincere condolences to Chris' family. Although we were on opposite sides of the criminal justice system, I really liked and admired Chris. He truly was a renaissance man. I will miss not being able to debate and joke around with him. He certainly was a "good ole boy". I'm sure he is playing that steel guitar up above while he tells God how things should be done. May he rest in peace.

Wow...I was just talking to Chick last Saturday night at the Shamrock Nite Club after my band's performance there. I will always remember Chick as a steel guitar virtuoso and one of the finest guys I have ever known. I sat in for his regular bass player several years ago at the Elyria Moose - It was a rare treat for me to be on the same stage with Chick. The Northeast Ohio country music fraternity has lost one of its best. You'll be missed, Chick.
So many memories. Good times. His fondness for chocholate covered cherries.
The ham community will miss him and I can only hope that David Wilimen and Julius and Chris have met up in heaven and are enjoying a brew and ham radio.
Once again I am reminded that Life is as a vapor .A month ago we were playing music, joking and having a wonderful time together . Now it too will be a memory to hold on to .
As my mind trips through all the good times together I realize how blest I was to have him for a friend . Whether it was telling stories of the road work he'd done , giving helpful insights to varied topics or help with a legal problem , Chic was always willing and able .
He will be missed by so many . The steel guitar and music community has lost a dear friend . Heart felt condolences go out to Sue and family .
May you find comfort in the love and grace of the Lord .

Chris was a dear friend, kind of like a brother and father wrapped in one. We had great fun together but always offering some fatherly advice to me on many different subjects. Although maybe not apparent to a lot of folks he had a certain loving and caring way about him that one had to know how to percieve. I saw it! I am blessed to have had him be a part of my life and will hold his memory dear to me til we meet again.
Chick will be remembered not only as as one of the best Steel Guitar Players we ever had the joy of picking with, but a great human being and friend. We were so glad he accepted membership in the band when we asked him to join Marshall Law back in 2002. We had admired his picking for years, and were thrilled when he joined our little group. We retired, but he kept picking with the guys, and it was such a pleasure seeing him every couple of months. We consider ouselves very lucky to have had the opportunity to be in the same band with a musician of Chick's caliber, personality, and humor. He will be missed!
