Natalie M. Treece (nee Varga), age 92, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021 at St. John Medical Center in Westlake after a brief illness. She was born on March 3, 1929 in Cleveland and had lived in Avon Lake from 1938-1988. She and her husband moved to Findlay before settling in North Ridgeville in 1998. Natalie was a member of St. Julie Billiart Church. She was a past member of the Isabella Guild of the Knights of Columbus, Father Ragan Council 3269, a member of Red Hat and Prime Timers. In Hancock County she was a past president of The Gathering Basket Herb Society. She worked as a schoolteacher at Avon East Elementary School for 25 years, retiring in 1988. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing and reading and taking bus trips to enjoy the autumn foliage. A tradition she carried on from her mother was making quilts for her grandchildren. Her birthday list, like her prayer list, grew longer every year. She never failed to send a card with a note, or a prayer, to anyone fortunate enough to be on her lists. She was an ever positive light, loved and cherished by many, Natalie is survived by her sons Thomas Treece and partner, Jo Fisher, of Sante Fe, NM, John Treece of Buckeye, AZ, David Treece and wife, Timberly, of Big Rapids, MI, Fred Treece and wife, Vivian, of Arnold, CA, J. Wesley of Alameda, CA; son-in-law James Rothgery and wife, Cathy, of Avon; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and sister Janet Trunick of Mesa, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband James C. Treece; daughter Amy Rothgery; and parents Nathan and Helen Varga. The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors of St. Johns Hospital in Westlake as well as caregivers at Northridge Health Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you remember her in memorials at your favorite church or yiour private prayers. Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday for a 9:30 a.m. prayer service preceding a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Julie Billiart Church, 5500 Lear Nagle Rd., N. Ridgeville. Rev. George Vrabel will officiate. Interment will be private.
