Johnnie L. Klinect

January 20, 1954 - April 15, 2022

Johnnie L. Klinect, age 68, of Grafton, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Friday, April 15, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Lodi and had been a lifelong resident of Grafton and Valley City. He worked as a Service Manager at Mack Industries for 35 years and Auto Zone before retiring in 2017. He was a member of the Elyria Eagles and past member of Elyria Moose Club. John played basketball for Midview High School and enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, traveling, and sporting events of all kinds with his family. John was loved by all and was always there to lend a helping hand. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Karen; children Anthony Ward of MI., Michael Klinect of Grafton, William Jascha IV of Grafton; Grandson William Jascha V; brother David (Nancy) Klinect of Reynoldsburg; mother-in-law Rita Ward of Grafton; brother-in-law “partner in crime” Timothy Ward of Elyria; many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Elwin “Jake” and Margaret “Marge” Klinect; father-in-law Patrick J. Ward. Family and Friends are welcome at the burial service at Butternut Ridge Cemetery at the corner of Butternut Ridge and Durkee Rds., Monday, May 2, 2022 at 10:30 am. Pastor Ray Smith will officiate. There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at the Grafton Township Hall at 17109 State Rt. 83 in Grafton.
