She used to seat us in alphabetical order in her class. I hated that because I liked sitting in the rear of her class room. Other than that, great teacher. I used to live around the corner from her house in North Ridgeville. Her son was in the military and he used to literally run around the neighborhood to get around. It's sad that her passing has brought me these found memories.
Mrs. Heller is one of the reasons I'm a writer. Her high expectations of work done in the classroom is a testimony to her character. I know this note is late (I just found out about her passing), but I wanted to share a good memory for her family and friends.
Mrs. Heller was a wonderful teacher. May she rest in peace.
I knew Nancy when I taught for a short time at the middle school. After I left in the 80's, Nancy continued to stay in touch by sending a Christmas card every year.
Nancy was a fine educator and a kind, compassionate colleague. She was always very supportive of my choirs at North Ridgeville Middle School. Her high expectations helped students reach their potential.

what a good person she was to all...Nancy was one of many who sent cards to Bob in 1990 when he had a massive heart attack, she put him and his family on her prayer list...
She was a teacher to both our now adult children, Dan and Leigh...she will long be remember for all her goodness and Christian care giving..

I am sorry to hear of your loss and pray that God help you through these times ahead. I remember your mother as a very strick teacher, but I always respected her in that she never let you perform less than your potential. I was able to take some of her teachings and pass them on to my own daughters, who excelled in English. God Bless you.

I taught English across the hall from Nancy for many years and learned a great deal from her, but what I remember most is how much we laughed together. She was kind, generous, and funny in a most unexpected way.
