Mom and my two kids, Heather & Sean, and I did a spur of the moment road trip at Easter ,years ago, and went down to stay for a long weekend with Aunt Nancy and Uncle Bill. I had to work that Saturday, so after work we all took off, Uncle Bill said it would be about a 10 -11 hour trip....he gave very good directions, but being from Ohio, i was looking for numbers on the house. Theirs didn't have any, for that matter, none of them did! Anyways, we finally arrived, after 9 hours of driving....i made good time because i stayed behind an 18-wheeler!
When we got close they said to call and they would look for the van, well we called and headed to there street looking for their house(by that time it was dark) so we turn on their street and drive slowly to look for non-exsistent house numbers! We were creaping by all these houses until we were almost in woods on a one way path, i had to back up and look again, finally i stopped at the only intersection there was and parked, called the house and asked where their house was. Uncle Bill answered and said, "do you have a black van?" I said,"yes." He started laughing really hard, said something to Aunt Nancy and I could hear her laughing too and then said, "oh, good grief, we've been watching that van go back and forth for an hour!"
So, finally got to our destination and got settled in for the night. I asked them if it was okay to do Easter baskets for the kids and they said they would like to if it was ok.
They were excited to have to do Easter baskets for the kids and to show us around.
We had a great Easter and a great long weekend with them. We love You!
Aunt Nancy you will be missed greatly!
