I would like to wish all of Mike's family and close friends my sincerest condolence. I was greatly saddened to hear of Mike's untimely passing. Though I had only known Mike for 20 years, and from a distance, I considered Mike a very close personal friend and will miss him greatly.
I realize that the last couple of years were full of tribulation for Mike and those around him. With all of the help of his dear friend Donna and many others, he was just not able to overcome the forces that came against him. For reasons he could not seem to understand or overcome, Mike became his own worst enemy and never recovered.
It is my prayer that in his passing we could remember, not who he had become, but remember Mike for the good things and the fond memories that he brought to all of our lives.
Mike always talked admiringly about his children; Stacy, Amy, Stephanie, and young 'Mikey'. He always had high hopes and expectations for their futures and admired their different individual abilities and personalities.
A few of my fondest memories of Mike were his ability to get all of us laughing with his quick wit and his comedic way of explaining events of life. His descriptive phrases always had us rolling. He was the guy who always seemed to know a short-cut around Cleveland.... but in reality usually took longer than anticipated. He was unusually fearless and would always surprise me with his ability to find a way to do something that I was sure he knew absolutely nothing about.
Though we are saddened by his untimely death at way too early of a time in his life, my prayer is that we will be able to put aside some of the heartache we face at his passing to remember the man who was our brother, father, and great friend... my friend, Mike Towers.
Sincerely,
Dave Larson,
