I learned just this evening of the passing of "Unca Mel". I have many, many happy memories of wonderful times with Mel and Marie in North Ridgeville, Gibsonburg, and up at Wolf Lake, Michigan along with the Obenauers and Nuhfers. Uncle Mel and I share June 21 as our birthdays. I remember coming to Mills Creek to celebrate the completion of the new patio project, right around our birthdays. Being in my late teens at the time, I teased Unca Mel that I was there "to drive his expensive new Porsche and was mildly disappointed to find out that the party was to celebrate his new PORCH instead." Mel helped us build our dock sections up at the lake, and taught us to sing "Horsey Keep Your Tail Up" to "April" He was very kind and will be missed. My deepest sympathy to Mel's loved ones!
