One of my fondest memories of Laura was my drive into work on Friday mornings and my cell phone ringing --- "Hi Jeff, where are you?. You know what sounds like a great idea, is someone stopping over to Davis bakery and picking me up an apple fritter" and of course no matter where I was I would go to the bakery and get us fritters because I considered her a wonderful person, and a great friend. RIP
That smile.. oh how that smile will be missed. She would flash it often at work. She would also laugh so loudly. I will miss that. I will miss the light she offered. She had great wisdom. She used her role to influence and to extend a model to others of how to lead from a position of grace and strength.
She loved her Scott, Spencer (Kristen), John, Julia, Brogan, and Regan. You knew they were the center of her world. They offered her hope, joy, love, passion. They allowed her to regale us with their stories.
She was a woman of faith. She was a woman of hope. She was a woman of grace. All too few of those exist in the world these days. May we who were touched by her life take it as an example of how to make an eternal impact.
I had the pleasure of working with Laura the last 2.5 years. I will always remember her great laugh and her infectious smile. I am going to miss her dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
