I will always remember your smile Jim. Every since I was a little girl, whenever we would meet, you always had a wonderful smile on your face. In recent times you were kind enough to meet with my brothers and sisters, and provide us with a wealth of information about our family...relaying many stories of things that happened before I was even born. How grateful I am to you for reliving history for us. We have been very blessed to have you marry into our family.....you certainly added a lot of "class" to the Garrity clan. We will miss you here on this earth and I personally will look forward to seeing you again with Betty and all my family members who you now have the pleasure of being reunited with.

Being the first child ol George and Marie, the first and only grandchild for seven years until Lynn was born, and the first niece to the aunts and uncles, I have fond memories of visiting you, Uncle Jim and Aunt Betty. You nicknamed me "butch." I, with my family, enjoyed visiting your homes around Puritas and off Clague Rd. As time went on, you, Aunt Betty and your girls were very supportive of Denis. Your family, Uncle Bob, Aunt Rita and their children along with my family had some big birthday parties for Denis. Even one way out near Madison when he lived out there. I have not forgotten those kindnesses. My brother, Frank and I visited you around 1986 after our father, George, died. I remember your home was still as if Aunt Betty was still living there! You were so in love with her. You were truly a Christian family man as our Lord Jesus Christ had instructed one to be through His Words of the Bible.
We look forward to seeing you and Aunt Betty, again!

We will miss you Grandpa Jim. I am very privileged that I was able to call you my Grandpa.

Countless memories and reminders will always let me know you are with me - baseball, Cleveland Indians, ping pong, ice cream sodas, Atari, going to the moon, your great story telling, Niagra Falls, your excellent poems on bithday cards, sharing birthday parties, picnics in your back yard, the pancake place, Geronimo, Cluck-a-luck, cart rides in your store, teaching me about big band music, your awesome basement...I can go on and on.

Most of all, you were always there for us. I hope that someday I can live up to the expectations of being a Grandpa like you were. Those are some big shoes to fill, but I am looking forward to it!

I am happy that you are together again with your soulmate Grandma Betty and all your friends and family, and I know you will be right there waiting for us when it is time for us to meet again.

Not only were you a Grandfather, you were a great friend of mine that I will sorely miss until we meet again. Thinking of all the memories down through time all the games and the sports whether baseball, football, ping pong, pinball, horshoes, Atari, Pool, whatever the game, the Root Beer Floats, the political and religious "discussions", the moonwalks in your basement, Pancakes at the "pancake place". I dont regret any of the time spent with you for a second and I thank you for your example and for being there for me and for your council. You lived a full life and I am glad that now you are finally reunited with Grandma.
I know these words were spoken by Someone special to us that we often talked about soon after you passed:
"Well done good and faithful servant! Enter into the reward prepared for you!"

You were a gift from God and I was truly blessed to have grown up as your Granddaughter.

I am thankful for each and every memory and will miss your amazing story telling, your zest for life, proudly watching you play softball into your early 80's, sharing late night snacks, your fun cart rides at Home Center West, your never ending faith in God and so much more...

This world is a sadder place without you in it but I know I will see you again someday to pick up right where we left off last.
