Oh my dear friend, how I will miss you.
You and Bernie loved to laugh and reminisce with Kevin and I on how you got a kick out of seeing our family parade into Mass every Sunday like a line of ducklings with Kevin and I leading the way. You were always there for us every step of the way while our five ducklings grew into young adults and left the nest. You celebrated with us all of their weddings and the birth of all of our 13 grandchildren marking each event with a special homemade quilt. You were also there for me with love, a hug, and a shoulder to cry on as I grieved the death of my grandson, Frankie. We would always remind you and Bernie that we adopted the both of you as our parents after both sets of our parents died.
I'll miss our hugs and long chats (many times about the Cleveland Indians) after 6 am Mass that many times were ended only because the 8 am Mass crowd would start flowing in. I'll miss sharing donut Sunday where you and Bernie always got your apple fritter. I remember one Sunday there were no apple fritters and you made sure Sister Sean never made that mistake again. I will miss our once a month breakfasts after Mass where you and Bernie would share your stories of what you did and where you went on your weekly Wednesday jaunts. No one told a story quite like Bernie! I will always remember our once-a-month Saturday Women's Fellowship Breakfasts at St. Peters and St. Julies.
We loved bringing fresh produce to you guys during the summer. I had to remind Kevin not to overload you too much because you would never think to let any go to waste.
You were loving, kind, and spunky. I'll never forget the time we stopped by and found you at the top of a ladder with Bernie holding it steady while you cleaned the gutters. You shew-shewed us when we yelled at you to get down. Kevin tattled on you to Rick the next Sunday and he confiscated your ladder.
We shared love, laughter, and tears. We shared books, recipes, and meals. But most of all we shared our lives together. Thank you for being a part of my life. I miss you. I love you!
