Growing up as a younger brother and still being molded into who I would become , I called Ann one day distraught over some stupid issue that I truly can’t even remember to this day . But for sure …. I felt defeated over something.
After listening to me rant about all the obstacles preventing me from feeling grounded and hopeful , Ann said
“Dave , Cant was defeated in the battle of Try “
It stopped the hands on the clock of negative thought in my mind.
It struck a chord with me and forever changed my life .
This was just one of the many profound statements my older sister Ann would eventually share with me over the years.
Ann was constantly my mentor , my counselor and my go-to when life would send me a curve ball.
No one was better at explaining the misunderstandings I had of others .
She helped realize that to expect a better life you first must I understand yourself and be the person you hope you have as a friend , husband , brother , son and dad.
There is a lesson Ann taught to all those she got to know . Live life to its fullest , forgive as quickly as you can and love people like you may never see them again.
The world lost someone who clearly made a difference .
Amanda, Mike and family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Ann was the sweetest person and I’m so glad I was able to share fun times with her in high school and at our reunions. Rest in Peace ❤️

Ann was my best friend in kindergarten - our backyards were kittycorner from each other. My fondest memory of that time is that we used to take a short cut through a field walking home and we'd get in trouble with our moms because our leotards would get full of burrs. Our family moved after kindergarten and I didn't see Ann again until we found each other in high school at Villa and became great friends again. She just had that smile and sense of humor that made you want to hear the next thing she was going to say, because it might be a doozie. We may or may not have given fake information to her younger brother about feminine hygeine products, that we talked about every time we saw each other in later years, and which is legend in my family. After high school, we would see each other at reunions, and the amazing thing about Ann was that it always felt like no time had passed and we just picked up where we left off. And that smile was always still going! The world is a less bright place without it. Rest peacefully, my friend.
I will always remember the long visits we made to Erie, where Ann Marie was my age-mate. She worked so hard on so many things. She will be missed. My Condolences to all.
One of my favorite memories of Aunt Ann was a trip in college to visit her, Amanda and Jessica. I remember sitting in the living room talking, laughing and listening to Ann & my Mom tell stories from their childhood. I was always so impressed with the extensive knowledge Aunt Ann possessed of our family history and I loved hearing new stories.
Aunt Ann also gifted me with a beautiful reading during my wedding ceremony in 2013. This is another of many memories I will cherish of her.
To Amanda, Jessica, Michael and Paul, I am so sorry for your loss. Sending all my love to you during this time.
