  • Who Am I?

    In this five-week group you will rediscover personal interests, explore new opportunities and identify support systems and tools to help since the death of your loved one. Come brainstorm, share and discover new ideas and resources with the group. There will be independent assignments most weeks. Registration is required.

  • Lost A Loved One Serving In the Military Support Group
    Saturday, April 01, 2017 : 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM

    TAPS is a tragedy assistance resource for anyone who has suffered the loss of a military loved one, regardless of the relationship to the deceased or the circumstances of the death. Founded in 1994, TAPS has established itself as the front line resource to the families and loved ones of our military men and women by providing comfort and care through comprehensive services and programs. TAPS is now partnering with Cornerstone of Hope for a continuous support group after hosting a Survivor Seminar and Good Grief Camp in October 2013.

    We invite you to join us as we provide support, care and hope with resources, personal contact, fellow survivors in a spirit of friendship and understanding. You do not have to attend every month, just attend when you are available or feel that you need the support. Light refreshments will be provided and there is no cost to you.

  • Healing Arts Workshops-Memories of Us
    Tuesday, April 04, 2017 : 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM

    Remember catching fireflies in a jar as a kid? It may be one of the memories you have of you and your loved one. In this workshop, participants will decorate a jar and begin writing memories on colored strips of paper to fill the jar. A string of LED lights will add a glow of warmth to your jar of memories.
    Healing Arts Workshops provide grieving people with a creative outlet for their greif and are open to the community. No art experience is necessary.     Our annual Easter Pancake Breakfast will include face painting, cookie decorating, craft making an Easter egg hunt, and of course a pancake breakfast! Come and enjoy a fun morning for the whole family. Register by March 31, 2017.

  • Madala Plates
    Tuesday, May 16, 2017 : 6:30 PM to Tuesday, May 23, 2017 : 6:30 PM

    Participants will create their own mandala design and paint both sides of a bisque (unglazed china) dinner plate with ceramic glazes at the first session. The plates will be kiln-fired during the week so that we can use them for our potluck meal at the second session, which will be devoted to sharing about the process. Bring your loved one's or your own favorite food to share!

    Sometimes the way we feel inside doesn't necessarily match with what we let people see on the outside. For a multitude of reasons, this may be especially difficult for children who are grieving. Participants will paint the outside and inside of a mask to represent how they feel. Ages 6+. Kids are invited to bring a family member along for this workshop. Light refreshments provided.

    Walk to Remember, now in its sixth year, is our largest fundraiser. It is open to anyone wishing to honor and celebrate the memory of a loved one or a caregiver, and to make a difference in the lives of those who are living with a serious illness.
    Registration is $12 for children, $25 for adults and $65 for family (includes two adults and three children ages 4-12, children 3 and under are free). This includes all-day admission to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and Rainforest, t-shirt, entertainment and much more.

    Comfort Buddies
    For every $100 raised or donated to Walk to Remember 2017, one of 8 of our adorable Comfort Buddies will be given to a Hospice of the Western Reserve patient. Comfort Buddies are used to provide reassurance and meaning to a variety of patients, from pediatrics to dementia care. We’ve found that Comfort Buddies improve patient experience by reducing agitation and restlessness and provide an overall sense of well being.

    Again in 2017, walkers and donors can purchase and sell Honor Signs for $250. We will display your sign along the Walk route. You and your family can take it home with you. Order today.

    Its the beginning of summer and foliage is bursting forth! At this workshop, participants will use leaves, flowers, pine branches, ornamental grasses and other natural items with deep veins or texture to create prints. Bring some natural items of your own to experiment with.

    International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day is Saturday, November 18, 2017. Join with fellow loss survivors in your community. On Survivor Day, suicide loss survivors around the world gather at local events to share stories, gain insight, and find comfort in the knowledge that they are not alone.
    On Saturday, November 18, 2017 we are hosting a Survivor Day event near you. The day's program will include the screening of an AFSP produced documentary that will explore the grief and healing journey after a suicide from the perspective of a group of long-term loss survivors. Additional details about the event will be posted on afsp.org/SurvivorsDay in the coming months.
